Introduction
Zhang Junpeng (Zhang Yong), born in 1970, is a young composer. Fond of music from childhood and self-taught on guitar, in his student days he formed the renowned Horizon Band in Northeast China, serving as composer, lead vocalist, and lead guitarist. He came to Beijing in 2000 to develop his career, and under the guidance of his mentor, the celebrated Chinese composer Mr. Martin, entered the path of film and television music creation — after which one fine work after another came to light.

Major Achievements
His scoring works twice won the "Five-One Project" Award for Spiritual Civilization Construction issued by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee:
- In 2009, as composer for the China-Japan co-produced large-scale animated series "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and its theme song "A Handful of Rivers and Mountains in Grasp", he received the 11th "Five-One Project" Outstanding Work Award, and the work was released globally.
- In 2014, as composer for the CCTV documentary "Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army", he received the 13th "Five-One Project" Outstanding Work Award.

- 2024 Producer and arranger of the symphonic song cycle "Endlessly Thriving China"; city-image theme song "Gate of the Grand Mansion".
- 2025 Music director, composer and arranger of the song cycle "Egret"; the musical "Appointment of Red Plum", among others.
- 2026 Commissioned by the China National Ethnic Orchestra, composing the large-scale national orchestral works "Tide of Jiaozhou · Mountains and Seas Resound" and "Taking the Lead".
