Entry documents (台胞證)
Since 2025-11-20, the Taiwan Compatriot Permit can be issued at 100 ports. If you didn't apply in advance, bring your Taiwan ID + exit/entry document to the port and get a single-entry permit in ~30 min (stay up to 3 months). A 5-year card permit is also available. First-time visitors get a free permit + 3000+ scenic spots free entry.
Payments
Bind Alipay / WeChat Pay to your Taiwan credit card (Visa / Mastercard / JCB) after real-name verification with your permit. Complete OTP SMS verification in Taiwan before departure. Carry ¥200–500 cash for backup. Cash limit: ¥20,000 / US$5,000.
Getting to Cuixi
By "Mini Three Links": Taiwan → Kinmen → Xiamen Wutong Port (ferry ~30 min) → 45 min drive to Changtai. Or direct flight Taiwan → Xiamen (~1.5 h) → 45 min drive. In Xiamen use metro / bus / DiDi; book Gulangyu ferry in advance.
Language & food
Hokkien (Minnan) is mutually intelligible and Mandarin is widely spoken — almost no communication barrier. Minnan cuisine is close to Taiwanese taste, so little food adaptation needed.
Returning to Taiwan — avoid these
Do NOT bring meat products (sausage / dried meat / pork floss) or heated tobacco / e-cigarettes. From 2025 many airlines ban use/charging of power banks in flight.
Is Cuixi a hotel or a homestay (B&B)?
Cuixi Mountain Villa Resort (Zhangzhou Changtai Cuixi Villa) is an official 4-star tourist homestay in Changtai District and one of Fujian's first certified integrity-model homestays. It is a standalone vacation villa rented as a whole building (7 bedrooms, no room-sharing with other guests).
Are pets allowed? Is there a fee?
The entire villa is pet-friendly; cats and dogs stay free with no breed or size restrictions. Pets are limited to the courtyard and designated outdoor areas and may not enter bedrooms, dining room, kitchen, hot-spring pool or swimming pool.
Is the pool and private mountain-spring tub shared?
No. The mountain-view pool and the natural-spring private hot tub are exclusively for your whole-villa booking and are not shared with other guests, open 24 hours.
What is the easiest way to get there from Xiamen?
Driving is easiest: about 45 minutes from downtown Xiamen. Navigate to 'Cuixi Mountain Villa (Zhumanyuan 69)'. The butler can also help arrange a pickup service.
Can you issue an invoice (Fapiao)?
Yes, official invoices are supported for corporate team-building or meetings. Please confirm invoicing details and tax ID with the butler.
What is the maximum occupancy?
The 7-bedroom whole villa sleeps about 22 guests, and daytime events can host 25-30. The 4-bedroom plan fits ~10, 5-bedroom ~14, 6-bedroom ~18.
Are there hot springs nearby?
The villa has its own natural-spring private hot tub (exclusive to guests). Shanwaishan Hot Spring Park is a 4-minute drive; Banyue Mountain Hot Spring (AAAA) is a 10-minute drive, with a 10% discount when booked via the butler.
Can we cook?
The open kitchen is available for a gas fee of RMB 200 per use, with fridge, microwave and cookware provided. Catering such as roasted whole lamb, goose banquet and BBQ can also be arranged.

Cuixi Mountain Villa Resort (Cuixi Homestay in Changtai District, Zhangzhou) is an official four-star tourist homestay in Changtai District and one of the first integrity demonstration homestays in Fujian Province. The property is a standalone vacation villa, rented out entirely with 7 bedrooms, without sharing rooms or mixing with other guests.
Are pets allowed? Is there a fee?
The entire villa is pet-friendly. Cats and dogs can accompany you for free with no breed or size restrictions. Pet activity areas are limited to the villa courtyard and designated outdoor spaces; they are not allowed in hygiene-sensitive areas such as bedrooms, dining rooms, kitchens, soaking pools, and swimming pools.
Are the swimming pool and private mountain-spring tub shared?
No. The mountain-view swimming pool and the natural spring private soaking pool are exclusively for your use during the entire villa rental period and are not shared with other guests. They are open 24 hours a day.
What is the most convenient way to get here from Xiamen?
Self-driving is the most convenient option. It takes about 45 minutes from downtown Xiamen. Simply search for 'Cuixi Mountain Villa Resort (No. 69, Zhumanyuan)' in your navigation system. You can also contact the butler to help arrange pickup and drop-off services.

The entire 7-bedroom villa can accommodate up to 22 guests for overnight stays, and 25-30 people for daytime activities. The 4-bedroom package accommodates about 10 guests, the 5-bedroom about 14, and the 6-bedroom about 18. The entire villa can be flexibly configured based on room types.
Are there hot springs nearby?
The villa itself features a natural spring private soaking pool (exclusive to guests); it is about a 4-minute drive to Shanwaishan Hot Spring Park, and a 10-minute drive to Banyueshan Hot Spring (AAAA-rated). The butler can book tickets for you at a 10% discount.
Is cooking allowed?
You can use the open kitchen. The gas usage fee is CN¥200 per use. It is fully equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, pots, pans, and utensils. You can also book catering services such as whole roasted lamb, whole goose banquet, and BBQ through the butler.

Internet & apps
Google / Facebook / WhatsApp / Instagram / YouTube are restricted — install a VPN before departure, or buy a China SIM / eSIM at the airport. Use Apple Maps / Amap (Gaode) / Baidu for navigation; DiDi has an English UI.
Language
English is limited outside tier-1 cities. Use Apple Translate / Baidu Translate (offline camera). A few Chinese phrases go a long way.
Safety & water
Emergency: 110 (police) / 119 (fire) / 120 (ambulance). Mainland China is generally safe. Tap water is not for drinking — use bottled or boiled water.
