For Guests from Taiwan
Entry documents (Taiwan Compatriot Permit)
Since 2025-11-20, the Taiwan Compatriot Permit can be issued at 100 ports across mainland China.
- Didn't apply in advance? Bring your Taiwan ID + exit/entry document to the port and get a single-entry permit in about 30 minutes (stay up to 3 months).
- For frequent travel, a 5-year card-style permit is available (shortest 4 days to issue, or via a Taiwan travel agent — no extra steps needed for 5 years).
- First-time visitors get a free permit + free entry to 3000+ scenic spots.
Payments
- Bind Alipay / WeChat Pay to your Taiwan credit card (Visa / Mastercard / JCB) after real-name verification with your permit.
- Complete the OTP SMS verification in Taiwan before departure.
- Carry ¥200–500 cash for backup (when phone has no signal/battery).
- Cash limit: ¥20,000 / US$5,000 per person (declare above the limit).
Getting to Cuixi
- Mini Three Links: Taiwan → Kinmen → Xiamen Wutong Port (ferry ~30 min) → 45 min drive to Changtai.
- Direct flight: Taiwan → Xiamen (~1.5 h) → 45 min drive.
- In Xiamen use metro / bus / DiDi; book Gulangyu ferry tickets in advance.
Language & food
Hokkien (Minnan) is mutually intelligible and Mandarin is widely spoken — almost no communication barrier. Minnan cuisine is close to Taiwanese taste, so little food adaptation is needed.
Returning to Taiwan — avoid these
- Do NOT bring meat products (sausage / dried meat / pork floss) or heated tobacco / e-cigarettes.
- From 2025 many airlines ban use/charging of power banks during flight.
For International Guests
Visa & visa-free
- Citizens of 50 countries enjoy 30-day visa-free entry for tourism.
- 240-hour (10-day) transit visa-free (57 countries, incl. Xiamen as an approved port) needs an onward ticket to a third country.
- An L tourist visa is recommended ~4 weeks ahead (hotel/flight bookings required).
- Hotels handle stay registration. Cuixi Villa is qualified to receive foreign guests and handles registration on-site — no need to visit a police station yourself.
Payments
- Bind Alipay / WeChat Pay to an international card (Visa / Mastercard / Discover / JCB / Amex).
- Carry ¥500 cash backup; withdraw RMB at ATMs.
- Tax refund: instant refund at "instant refund" stores for purchases over ¥200 (8% / 11%).
Internet & apps
- Google / Facebook / WhatsApp / Instagram / YouTube are restricted — install a VPN before departure, or buy a China SIM / eSIM at the airport.
- Use Apple Maps / Amap (Gaode) / Baidu for navigation; DiDi has an English UI.
Language
English is limited outside tier-1 cities. Use Apple Translate / Baidu Translate (offline camera). A few Chinese phrases go a long way.
Safety & water
- Emergency: 110 (police) / 119 (fire) / 120 (ambulance). Mainland China is generally safe.
- Tap water is not for drinking — use bottled or boiled water.
At Cuixi Villa
Foreign guest reception
Cuixi Villa holds proper foreign-reception qualifications — a complete special-industry licence and a fully integrated public-security registration system. We can legally host guests holding valid passports, including travellers from Taiwan and overseas Chinese.
Pet policy
Cuixi is pet friendly. We welcome pets and provide a pet house on site. Pets are not allowed in indoor activity areas — the same rules apply to domestic and international guests.
Payment methods
We accept Alipay / WeChat Pay, bank transfer, and international card payments (Visa / Mastercard / JCB / Amex).
Pickup service
We provide paid airport and train-station pickup / drop-off services throughout Fujian Province. Fees are based on the distance to the specific airport or station.
Cancellation
Our cancellation and modification policy is the same for international and domestic guests. Please refer to our standard booking policy for details.

- Step 3: Pay a RMB 3,000 deposit to confirm; booking is effective once the deposit is paid.
- Step 4: Settle the balance on check-in day by cash, bank transfer or mainstream mobile payment.
Availability is limited on weekends and holidays; we recommend booking 1–4 weeks ahead.
